“I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to have worked across a broad range of applications (cars, aircraft, as well as satellites); this exposure always held my interest as it allowed me to work along side some of the best and brightest engineers in these fields.”
Prior to becoming the President of Process Technology Engineering, Bill worked for a number of major companies, Allen-Bradley, Badger Meter, Milwaukee Electric Tool, and Plexus EAC in a variety of positions involving design, product development, improving manufacturing yield, and production goals, as well as meeting quality metrics that positively impact the bottom line.
Bill completed his bachelor’s degree at Western Illinois University and his masters at the University of Iowa. During his tenure at Allen-Bradley, Badger Meter, and Milwaukee Electric Tool Bill had the opportunity to work on the commercialization of many new products and to be a contributing member on several US patent application filings.
“Today, some of my most rewarding moments are helping young engineers find that one missing element to complete the successful launch of their latest design or first patent filing. It’s a feeling of accomplishment that I have always enjoyed and continue to appreciate. It is even more special when I can share it with other promising young engineers, inventors, and scientists.”
Bill is an active member of several technical organizations including International Microelectronics and Packaging Society (IMAPS), Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA), and IPC.
“When I started working as a Manufacturer’s Representative in 2000, I was not sure that I would like not being intimately connected to the product, process, or end results as I had when I was the OEM guy on the factory floor, charged with the responsibility to make it happen. What I have learned about the current manufacturing model today is that it is missing much of the hands-on experience and in-depth exposure to a broad array of manufacturing processes to equip each and every one of the factory floor personnel with sufficient knowledge and experience to always have the answers at one’s finger tips. Over the past few years, I have learned that my background and past exposure help me everyday to be a meaningful asset to shed light and a new yet experienced prospective to solving the ever reoccurring design issues, manufacturing or process problems, and quality challenges that we all wind up facing sooner or later.”
The dedicated team of engineering professionals at PTE are just that, dedicated and professional.
